Olympics after 2010?

We asked Lyle whether or not he thinks the NHL will participate in the Olympics after the games in 2010.

Lyle responded with a flat-out No.

They will participate no further after the 2010, as the games in '10 are in Canada (Vancouver).

After 2010, it will likely be all we ever see of NHL players in international hockey, as its looking as though the NHL will not participate in the World Cup either.

Could this mean, after 2010, many Europeans migrating back to their countries so they can represent their nation during international competitions? It wouldn't surprise me.

Vancouver and Hasek

We asked Lyle,

"What does Vancouver do on deadline day?"

"I think they may pursue a backup, although I wouldn't rule out a short term pitch for Curtis Joseph or Dwayne Roloson. Vesa Toskala could be on their radar."

When asked about whether or not the Senators should pursue goaltending,

"That completely depends on the length of the injury, which is currently still unknown."

Olli Jokinen

We asked Lyle "where do you see Olli Jokinen ending up," and he replied with this.

"As for Jokinen, I'm not convinced he's going to be moved. Yeah, anything's possible, but I think Keenan seriously wants to retain him. If he trades Jokinen, he can all but kiss Luongo goodbye next summer."
